The Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) is a coalition of over 150 organizations—and tens of thousands of Palestinians and Israelis—building people-to-people cooperation, coexistence, equality, shared society, mutual understanding, and peace among their communities. It adds stability in times of crisis, fosters cooperation that increases impact, and builds an environment conducive to peace over the long term.
ALLMEP secures and scales funding to radically expand trust-building interactions between Israelis and Palestinians. It provides capacity-building support and visibility to amplify the voices and impact of its member organizations in the region. It connects individuals and groups to create a critical mass that live and act in support of peace.
Founded in 2006, ALLMEP envisions a Middle East in which its community of Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders lead their societies toward and beyond a sustainable peace. To that end, ALLMEP works to increase its members’ financial and human resources, and provides a global platform for their visibility. ALLMEP’s direct advocacy has led to over $300 million in funding for Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilding.
John Lyndon is ALLMEP’s Executive Director, having previously been this organization’s European Director and founder of its office in Paris during 2018. He brought with him over a decade of experience leading NGOs concerned with conflict resolution and international development, with a particular focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the pivotal role civil society can play in any lasting resolution. A regular contributor and commentator on events in the Middle East, his writing has featured in numerous international publications, including The Independent, Newsweek and TIME Magazine, and he is a frequent analyst on the BBC, CNN, France 24 and Sky News. John received a BA in English Literature and History from University College Dublin, and an MA in International Relations from the University of Sheffield, where he won the 2007 Bethan Reeves Prize for his research on the Middle East.
